Oranges and some other colors

This is orange month over at SoScrappy's Rainbow scrap challenge.  I always have to dig pretty deep to find orange in my scraps.  Yesterday I not only found the color orange, but I found this fabric with pictured oranges!  Slowly but surely I'm making progress on these blocks.  They are 4 and 3/4 inch squares.  I only need 270 more until I can put them all together.  Good thing I'm in no hurry!

Piles of  cracker jack blocks!  There are now 131 of them!  I love those little grape tomatoes from Costco and the containers are perfect for storing these blocks.  One box will hold 100 of these squares.  Check out what others are working on over at Connies Freemotion by the River-linky Tuesday!

Don't you just love how inspiration is just a click away!

  1. 270 blocks? WOW!!! That'd take me a LONG time; it looks hard, too.

  3. Very patient method for making your quilt. If you need orange you can always drop in to my neighborhood. It is a favorite of mine. : )

  4. Thats the nice thing about the rainbow scrap challenge, if you do a bit every month it will grow and grow. Besides divide 270 by the 9 remaining months and you only have to do 30 each month (see much more managable!!!)

Looking good by the way! Happy sewing.

  5. Thank you! My new goal is 30 per month! Broken down one more time it is 7 1/2 per week. I think I could do that! Wish me luck!

  7. Good luck with your blocks! They look great and 7.5 per week seems manageable... that's a little over one per day! That oranges fabric is great.
