Progress on the sweater!

I haven't finished the sweater yet, but things are going quickly now that I am done with the seemingly unending rows of the body and on to the sleeves!  I will have to recruit my knowledgeable friends to help me with the blocking.  After working so hard on my first large project, I want to make sure that I do it right.  You might want to go to Patchwork Times to see what others have on their needles!

  3. The only thing I've ever done with a sweater is steam it a bit. Lay it flat on an ironing board or other flat surface. Get the iron hot and steamy. Maybe use a damp cloth as well. Don't let the iron touch the sweater. Keep it about half an inch to an inch above the surface and push the steam button.

    Then flatten with your hands.

I know that real blocking exists. But I've never done any.

It is funny. I'm finally knitting scarves. I started, at 11, with an adult sized sweater. No one ever suggested scarves. The next big project was a baby dress for my niece, followed with an entire baby set including blanket on a weave it loom for my nephew. Or maybe that is reversed. He is 6 months older than she is. I was 12. Who remembers.

  4. Wow! Beautiful sweater. I was almost as fascinated with the snow pictures as I was with your knitting.
