String piecing on paper

I won these blocks at a quilt guild meeting.  Half of them were sewn with the points to the center and the rest were sewn with the points out.  My first task was to determine whether to sew them together as they were or to take half of them apart and sew them back together so that they all matched.  I was too lazy to redo them so this is the layout I came up with.

This post is linked up to Judy Laquidara's Design Wall.  You should go check it out!

Now I remember why I don't like using a paper foundation!

This is not a very large quilt, but it seemed like it took forever getting all that paper off!  What a mess!

After all my complaining... I admit that I do love string pieced quilts... just not on paper!

  1. At least the blocks were half and half.
Yes, I agree on removing the papers. Just discussed this with a friend yesterday. She loves removing papers. I told her I would do the piecing and she could remove the papers. : )
This is a fun, scrappy creation!
